About the Course:

During the course, you will learn the most up-to-date First Aid and CPR Guidelines, ensuring that you have the knowledge and skills required to respond effectively in various emergency situations. The training is designed to meet the requirements for Provincial/Territorial worker safety and Insurance Boards, providing you with a recognized certification.

Course Content Includes:

The Red Cross: Understand the role and importance of the Canadian Red Cross in providing first aid training and emergency response.
Preparing to Respond: Learn how to assess the scene, prioritize your actions, and ensure your safety and the safety of others before providing first aid.
The EMS System: Gain an understanding of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) system and how it operates in emergency situations.
Check, Call, Care: Learn the steps to assess an injured or ill person, when and how to call for help, and provide appropriate care until professional help arrives.
Airway Emergencies: Understand how to recognize and respond to airway obstructions, including choking and breathing difficulties.
Breathing and Circulation Emergencies: Learn to identify and provide appropriate first aid for breathing and circulation-related emergencies, including cardiac arrest.

First Aid for Respiratory and Cardiac Arrest: Acquire the skills to perform CPR on adults, children, and infants, as well as the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs).
Wound Care: Understand how to assess and manage different types of wounds, including cuts, burns, and punctures.
Head and Spine Injuries: Learn to recognize and provide appropriate first aid for head and spine injuries, ensuring the safety and well-being of the affected individual.
Bone, Muscle, and Joint Injuries: Gain knowledge on assessing and managing common injuries such as fractures, sprains, and dislocations.
